John McCain has:
1. Rallied against bloated government and has tried to keep govt spending under control.
2. Never voted for a tax increase; he only voted against the 2002 tax cuts because he felt that reigning in govt. spending should take priority.
3. Always supported free trade.
4. Always supported the troops and their missions in the Middle East.
5. Always voted pro-life.
6. Voted with the NRA.
I don't get Ann Coulter and what she is saying. These are positions that conservatives have always supported. Hillary, on the other hand, would expand the size of government, go along with Charlie Rangel's 1.33 Trillion Dollar Tax increase, has questioned NAFTA and has always voted in favor of pro-choice and gun control(*cough* criminal welfare).
Seriously, what is Ann on about? Unless she secretly wants to increase the size of government, another big-government neo-conservative

Here is what Wiki has to say on the subject:
In a June 2007 interview, Coulter named Duncan Hunter as her choice for the 2008 Republican nomination, saying "my favorite candidate is [Rep.] Duncan Hunter [R-CA], and he is magnificent. The problem is most people say, "Who's Duncan Hunter?" He's a genuine war hero. He has one son, I think, in Iraq, one in Afghanistan. He is good on every single issue. He has been out front on building a wall. He did build a wall at San Diego. He's very good on -- on the life issue. He's good on everything."[69]
However, in January 2008 she named Mitt Romney as her choice for the 2008 Republican nomination, saying he is "manifestly the best candidate."[70]
In contrast, Coulter has been strongly critical of most front-runners for the GOP presidential ticket, including John McCain and Rudolph Giuliani, whom she has criticized for their moderate views.[citation needed] In response to criticism from those two candidates and Mitt Romney over her comments about John Edwards she said, "Apparently our top three Republican nominees aren't that smart. And by the way, if they're going to start apologizing for everything I say, they better keep that statement handy cause there's going to be a lot more in the next year."[71] She has also been critical of Fred Thompson, for his failure to vote for the impeachment of President Clinton,[citation needed] and very critical of Mike Huckabee, whom she has called "stupid and easily led"[72] and a "Republican Jimmy Carter."[73]
On the January 31, 2008 broadcast of Hannity and Colmes, Coulter claimed that, if McCain won the Republican nomination for president, she would support and campaign for Hillary Clinton, claiming that "[Clinton] is more conservative than McCain."[74]
When in doubt, go to Wiki, the source of all knowledge. |

Ya-Ta Boy, I used to (and still to a point) like Wikipedia. The problem with it is that biases creep into the process and that sometimes makes improving an article impossible. Which is one of the reasons I don't edit much on there anymore.

| Why do people still pay attention to Coulter? She's obviously all an act. |

| Mdave, I was being sarcastic. I went to Wiki to check out Coulter's age and came across the statement that she has announced she supports Romney. Since people on this thread were wondering about that, I cut and pasted that section. |

Ya-Ta,
I see...I missed the sarcasm I guess. Either way Ann Coulter needs to start taking some medication. |

Ann Coulter said:
| Quote: |
"...It would be a much better country if women did not vote. That is simply a fact. In fact, in every presidential election since 1950 - except Goldwater in '64 - the Republican would have won, if only the men had voted.
"If we took away women's right to vote, we'd never have to worry about another Democrat president. It's kind of a pipe dream, it's a personal fantasy of mine, but I don't think it's going to happen. And it is a good way of making the point that women are voting so stupidly, at least single women.
"It also makes the point, it is kind of embarrassing, the Democratic Party ought to be hanging its head in shame, that it has so much difficulty getting men to vote for it. I mean, you do see it's the party of women and 'We'll pay for health care and tuition and day care -- and here, what else can we give you, soccer moms?'"

The wikipedia quotes did mention Duncan Hunter, and he did want to build a wall between Mexico and the U.S.
McCain, on the other hand, wanted to legalize the illegals. Romney criticizes McCain every chance he gets on that. Romney refers to it as McCain's 'amnesty' program.
I'm gonna guess it's little things like that that get some of the more conservative Republicans like Coultier all worked up. |

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say I supported McCain and Bush's immigration plan. I believe more participation in any economy is ultimately good for it in the long run. Whether these immigrants are picking berries and grapes in California or putting up bricks and mortar in the Northeast, they are adding to the economy. These 'crummy' jobs, that not many people are willing to do, provide more opportunities for everyone involved, now and in the future.
I am also going on record as saying I fully support NAFTA and the FTAA, should the FTAA come to fruition |
