It greatly helps to have a reward system. Mine is scoring points beside each students names on the blackboard. bad behavior gets a minus. Works well. The winner at the end of the lesson recieves candy, or a coupon. 10 coupons can be exchanged for a prize, like pencils or crayons. My school is quite organised this way- for which i'm very grateful.
At my former hakwon there was no such rewards system operating, things were a lot worse. And yes, a reward system is a lot more positive and effective than solely a punishment system.
Get some candy to dish out. I can buy a sheet of 70 candy's for only 100 won. lasts a couple of days of lessons.
Yep: i used to think that the kids just didn't properly understands my commands..not true. As soon as you manipulate them with something, you'll quickly realise thay understand a lot more than you think. |
