I must admit there is some damn fine pizza to be had here. There are 4-5 places that I recommend highly. However, I don't live anywhere close to Seoul so I am a little more limited by my options. These places, however, rock my lame anus when it comes to pizza.
#1 Pizza Hut- Definitely the most western oriented pizza to be had in these parts. It's an old standby if you need your western fix. The pepperoni, vegetarian and cheese are just as good as back home. They also use high quality ingredients (cheese, vegs, sauce) that you'd find at home. However, for me the real standouts are the Koreanized pizza you find here. I love the rich gold sweet potato pizza (ask for 2 rings you sissies) The cheese bite is outstanding with its crust of sweet potato and mozzarella cheese as well as the standard stuffed cheese crust. They also come out with some really nice new menu flavors fairly frequently. The newest one (double barbeque) is damn sweet. However they put out some really nasty ish every so often. (The sweet chestnut pizza a year ago tasted like a bag of azzholes). The price is the only real setback..with a large pizza setting you back between 18-28 bucks.
#2 Domino's Pizza- These guys have the most western offerings out of the Korean pizza places. They also use high quality ingredients (cheese, vegs, sauce) that you'd find at home as well. Here you can get cheese, pepperoni, mushroom, sausage...etc. Unfortunately, Pizza Hut does a better job with its more limited western menu than Domino's does. The standouts for Domino's are its Korean influenced menu items. The triple cheese is a definite must have. Three layers of thin pizza, each sandwiched with a layer of different cheese..how can you go wrong? Trust me...your heart will thank you. The double crust varieties are really good as well. The also come out with interesting new menu items from time to time as well. Like Pizza Hut, the real setback is the money it will cost you...be prepared to spend 15-28 bucks for a pizza.
#3 Mr. Pizza- A lot of whitebreads tend to slag Mr. Pizza because of its almost non-existent western oriented menu. However, there is some damn good pizza to be had in here. The specialty pizzas use a pastry style crust which tastes really delicious-eu. I had a pizza there a while back that used a cookie style crust with blueberry dipping sauce...and it tasted friggen great. Just like Pizza Hut and Mr. Pizza they also use high quality ingredients (cheese, vegs, sauce) that you'd find at home. Because of the lack of western style pizzas there..it can be really hit or miss for some whitebreads...however go with the specialty pizzas...you can't lose. I find Mr. Pizza a little cheaper than Pizza Hut and Dominos...still be prepared to spend 20 bucks for a nice pizza.
#4 Imsil Pizza - At first glance this place looks like one of those reviled 5000 won pizza places. However, nothing could be further from the truth. This place's main selling point is that it uses a dough made from rice flour instead of wheat. The results are pretty good. The rice dough is a nice change of pace from the standard flour dough. The only negative point about them is that they have no truly outstandind pizza flavors. Most of it is standard Korean fanfare with the western offerings a little substandard. The rice dough crust does make up for this. I recommend trying their brown rice or black rice dough pizzas very refreshing. The ingredients they use here tend to be of a slightly less quality than the above 3 pizza places but the dough is worth the price of admission. Because of the price of rice, imsil tends to be about 15-25 bucks for a large specialty pizza.
Because these places cost quite a bit..I usually eat pizza 1-2 times a month. My advice is to not even go near those 5000 won pizza places. Places like Pizza Bingo, Pizza Etang, Pizza School etc...are a waste of friggen time. If you want to try the culinary equivalent of eating a 90 year old man's taint..then by all means hit these places up. Yes they are cheap..but spend 10 more bucks and get yourself a real pizza. |

Sorry OP, I won't take your advice. Sweet potato pizza sucks.
I am also a cheap bastard, so Pizza School suits me just fine. |

These reviews are satirical (go for the Korean-influenced pizzas), right?
I had a pepperoni pizza from pizza hut here once. Nothing like back home. Not real pepperoni. You're a LIAR! |

And a lot of whities are right about that.
Additionally, the corn and pickles are fucked. |

Actually it's pretty good in my opinion, I was surprised.
Bulgogi pizza is also a personal favorite. |

Sorry, I still hate sweet potato on pizza!
I like Heim's western-style pizzas, without sweet potato and corn and stuff like that. I can just get a normal pizza. Some days I can ever get my local restaurant to make me a mushroom pizza!
It's a little greasy and a time bit sweet, but more like Pizza Hut in the US than Pizza Hut in Korea tastes. |

Word for the Papa John's claim. The one at Cheongdam Station has a manager who always put extra sauce, a smaller portion of cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, and pineapple on mine. He cooks the hell out of it, too, which makes it like a Sicilian pizza from Beantown besides the fact that it's not square-shaped.
Toatl cost for a Supreme is 18k (that's with the 20% discount for take out). |

Pizza Etang is okay... for a limited number of their pizzas. Their Bacon&Salami is quite good as is their White Garlic. Everything else I can do without. |
