Ron Paul's Prospects Look Up In Maine
By GLENN ADAMS, Associated Press Writer
Thu Jan 31, 5:04 PM ET

AUGUSTA, Maine - Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul has a couple of things going for him at this weekend's Republican caucuses: a band of highly motivated supporters and a natural appeal to Maine's like-minded independents.

His stop in the state earlier this week also made him the only presidential contender from either party to visit before the caucuses.

"I think that (because) he's paid attention to Maine, he'll be rewarded," R. Kenneth Lindell, Paul's campaign coordinator in Maine, said Thursday.

Maine's GOP polling Friday, Saturday and Sunday may be the Texas congressman's best shot at winning a state, and such a feat would be big coming just days before next week's Super Tuesday presidential preference contests in more than 20 states.

Paul: Secretive Elite Control America
02-01-2008
Press TV

Presidential candidate Ron Paul says he traces America's problems to the flawed monetary policy of the wealthy and secretive elite.

During a speech at the University of Washington on Thursday, Paul said the Congress and the Federal Reserve will not be able to stem the recession spurred by the home mortgage meltdown.

"The most important thing you can do is nothing," said the Texas congressman, who voted against the recent $146 billion economic stimulus package passed by the US House of Representatives.

The 10-term Texas congressman maintained that a series of wrong economic decisions by the Bush administration has led to a recession.

The government should allow the market to correct itself, Paul added.

Although the mainstream media attempts to keep a low profile on the 72-year-old presidential hopeful, he has managed to find a staunch group of supporters who say he has captured their hearts with his 'message of freedom' and constitutionalism.

"The Constitution was written for one specific purpose and that was to restrain the government, not to restrain the people," Paul has said.

But those 19% should count for more because those are the real Americans who believe in the Constitution, unlike everyone else.[/quote]

Ron Paul wins again Rolling Eyes

Romney Easily Wins Maine's Republican Caucuses (Updated)

02 Feb 2008 08:00 pm

According to the Associated Press, Mitt Romney won 53% of the vote, followed not at all closely by John McCain, who won 21% and Ron Paul, who won 19%.

Mr. Romney's campaign spent money to turn out voters, whereas Mr. McCain's did not. But every statewide elected official was with McCain, and Sens. Snowe and Collins spoke at caucuses on Maine's behalf. The Romney campaign's star campaigner in the state was eldest son Tagg.

Turnout was said to be unusually high even as an ice storm cut off parts of the state.

The Romney campaign released a fairly pro forma statement, saying Mainers "cast a vote for conservative change."

Maine sends 21 delegates to the national convention.

So was it fraud or not?

With 57 percent of votes counted, Romney took 52 percent, followed by the national frontrunner, Arizona Senator John McCain with 22 percent, Ron Paul with 19 percent and Mike Huckabee 5 percent.

You would think in free trading, libertarian Maine RiP would take it huh? I guess because he's a racist religious wacko they decided no. Or it was the NWO's voting machines?

See, here's an interesting scenario I see playing out.
If Paul wins a state or two on Feb 5th, but McCain wins the rest, that means
Romney and Huckleberry would drop out.
Conceivably, McCain would be the frontrunner and Paul would be the only 1 left to challenge him, seeing as how he's the only one with money left to fight.
I'm pretty sure Rush Limbaugh and the religious wrong/right's collective heads would explode when faced with a choice of McCain or Paul.

The party would melt down come convention time if that happened. Airport bathrooms and rest stops in Minneapolis would be clogged with conservatives seeking comfort from anyone because of those prospects.
