Hello all
I've been asked to travel to Osaka on a visa run. Would it be cheaper to go to Osaka directly (about 400K won) or to to Fukuoka first (190K won) and take some transportation to Osaka? Does anyone know?
The college has told me they will cover one-way of my visa run. Is this a reasonable request? It sounds a little ungenerous, but that's just me.

| Travelling by train in Japan is incredibly expensive. I would imagine that a shinkansen from Fukuoka to Osaka (although it's really fast) would run you somewhere around $100 US each way. Slower trains aren't really much cheaper. I'm not sure about buses, but I doubt it would be much different. |

For time, money and convenience - fly directly to Osaka - or better yet, fly to Fukuoka and do the visa run there. It's less crowded, cleaner and cheaper to do anything in Fukuoka than Osaka.

| Yes, there is a consulate in fukuoka. no need to go to osaka. |
