Hi
so I am planning on sending boxes home (surface mail) but I'm not sure what to write on the area that asks you to list the contents and value.
These are jsut some clothes I am sending home in advance.
What do you all usually write in that area?
thanks. |

Well, this is just a guess, but I would write "clothes".
I did the same thing last year, and wrote clothes, then wrote out a value at less than $100 so I didn't get dinged at home for customs etc. If you want you can write used clothes, so they know it isn't new goods you are shipping out for re-sale at home. |

I did the same thing. I had a laptop and a few other items but I was afraid that if I listed them there would be a chance my package would come up "missing". |

I sent 10 20kg boxes to Canada. I actually listed what was in them in a general way. When they got to the Post Office in Canada, Customs and the PO were so glad to get rid of them the never even checked.
I also wrote, returning settlers effects and since I had been out of Canada for 8 years there was no hassle. |
