| lotsa beautiful islands off tongyeong. about 200. any ideas as which to hit and which to miss? i'll pass on developed resorts and much prefer backwaters. thanks. |

got to the ferry terminal too late for saryangdo. the other choice was jaesongdao (sp) on the island of hansan, the home base of the turtle ships. sheer, dumb, nice guy luck befell me. i had no idea what to expect- just going to go. on the ferry a guy talks to me. he is returning to his home island as business will take him to spain next week. he and his family took me in, gave me an auto tour of the island saturday and put me up in a spare room. i didn't even spend 24 hrs on island but my batteries are recharged in no small way. ready to hit (an)other island during seolla (sp?).
woulda been a hard island to do on foot. lots private buses. only like 3k people on the whole island. |
