|
|
I'm flying out on Wednesday around 1pm and I was planning on taking the bus from Gangnam station. Usually it takes 50 minutes to an hour from there to the airport, but I'm a little worried about Wednesday due to it being Seolnal and all.
What should I expect?? The bus takes the Olympic expressway to Yeouido and then I'm not sure the name of the expressway to Incheon airport. |

You will probably have crazy traffic until just before Gimpo airport and then smooth sailing from there on out. |

The bus I'm taking (609) goes direct to Incheon, no pussyfooting around at Gimpo... but I understand what you're saying. Thanks |

After the Olympic expressway it's straight onto the Inchoen Airport expressway. That's usually pretty quiet, can't see it being that busy considering it only goes to the airport. But the bit after leaving Kangnam Terminal may have congestion. When I came back after christmas I took your bus and it was pretty clogged up after the motorway. Safe bet just take an earlier bus. |

Allow 2 hours Seoul -> Incheon by bus, although it's usually only 1 hour. Or catch a train to Gimpo on subway line 1 , & change there. The Incheon Gimpo section of the new rail link to Seoul opened in March, 2007. The Gimpo Seoul section is still under construction. I've read it's not such a hassle with luggage, as there are escalators / lifts at Gimpo. |

You're leaving around 1pm. I say get on that bus no later than 10ish...
Or take the subway to Gimpo and hop on the AREX.
If you have alot of luggage, check in at Samseong. Then head to Incheon. But I've never done this before. |

If you have already been out of Korea this year and you don't have a multiple entry visa it could be another delay (usually around 30 minutes)
I was surprised by that and nearly missed my plane a couple years ago... |

You can not check in at Samsung unless you are flying Asiana or Korean Air. But you can get a limo bus ticket to Incheon and it's pretty wuick and painless. If you are flying Korean Air or Asiana you can also clear customs at Samsung. |

Traffic was a breeze to the airport... quicker than usual. I guess the rush was a bit earlier.
On a side note, what's the advantage of checking in at Samseong? It's not like checking in is a huge ordeal at Incheon. |

There are no lines. You get first choice of seats. When you get to the airport, you go through the same lines the crews use, which means no immigration lines. It is infinitely better. |
