i've had a couple run ins. had a regular one in mokdong. walking slow ahead of me, i'd pass him at a brisk walking pace and suddenly he'd start to keep up with me and turn his head looking at me.
or the bank employee who'd see me walking by, rush out and start yammering "shall i speak to you???"
lot of weird people who follow you around - kind of like stray dogs. |

One time I was sitting on a bench in a subway station waiting for the train with my boyfriend and his mother. This girl sat down next to me and she looked like any normal university-aged Korean girl. But she was staring at me so intently that I started getting a little creeped out. She was actually leaning forward with her elbows on her legs in order to get a good look at the front of my face.
She then started poking me in the arm. I looked at her and she said something in Korean. I didn't understand so I continued to ignore her. She poked me again and when I looked at her noticeably annoyed she said "Shut up!!!" in English. I was looking at my boyfriend and his mother trying to get some reaction from them but the were oblivious to what was going on.
The girl then grabbed the bottle of tea I had in my hand and took a big swig of it and handed it back to me. I just sat there shocked, not sure what to say.
It was the weirdest thing... |

You should have said back "da ra heh, welcome to korea!" Such poor manners she learned. |

| Anybody remember that crazy dude that used to ride the subway? He always carried a dog (some people said it was a dead dog) and he would throw make believe grenades at foreigners? Haven't seen him in a long time. |

I've been harrassed twice now by a crazy paper collector guy on the purple line.
He's a young guy, smells putrid, and both times he has got up in my face and asked "How are you today?" I've come right back with the old "I'm fine thank you." Then he points at my chest and asked "Do you understand? I understand." Regardless of whether I say yes or no, he keeps asking, then tries to ask me other (unintelligible) stuff, all the while getting more and more agitated and aggressive.
Anyone else run into this guy? |
I don't know if I ran into the same guy, but I was on line 5 last week and a young guy sat down next to me and at first I just thought he farted, but no, he smelled liked he pooed his pants when the smell didn't dissipate. Narsty. |

She was obviously mentally challenged in some way. I was at a total loss for words. |

I like the crazies. They make the trip more interesting.
My personal favorite is a well dressed, normal looking arjoshe that finished his 100won machine coffee then proceeded to suction the empty paper cup onto his face, over his nose and mouth while inhaling and humming some tune while nodding enthusiastically at me in time to the humming. He was sitting right next to me.... |

| the other day in Pohang some guy started spining back kicking the ____ out of the guard rail between the busses and the people. At first, cause I was following him, I thought he was trying to hit me...nope...he went after a trash can next. Oh he had his jacket on his head...like a big hat. The bus stations guys grabbed him...I like crazy people. |

What's a Liverpool kiss? Is that where you are drunk and rioting after a soccer match and attack vulnerable people for no reason? |
A headbutt straight onto the bridge of the nose... can be called a Glasgow/Belfast/Wigan kiss! |
hahaha...
A Frank Bruno fan I see!
Whatever happened to the old clown anyway? Did he return to panto or just go nuts? |

When I lived in Daechi a while ago there was a woman who used to hang around the neighbourhood park.
Sometimes she would be muttering to herself, sometimes shouting at people and following them, and the funniest days were when you would see her just quietly remonstrating with thin air. I used to have bets with my friend over which state she would be in the next time we saw her.
I also saw a guy having a heated argument with a parked car one night. Days later I'd be walking down the street , alone, and suddenly start pissing myself laughing at the thought of it. So now I look crazy, too. |
