That's been shown to not be true many times now. Even the Bush administration doesn't make that claim.
And it's not a real war, it's an invasion and occupation. A real war has enemies and not a vaguely defined threat. |
It is a real war cause the Bathists , the Khomeni followers and the Al Qaedists have been after the US.
Maybe you think that mideast regimes and elites have the right to incite violence , teach hate plan terror and fund Al Qaeda and that the US has no right to force them to stop.

If they attack our soil, we let 'em have it.

Except that Al Qaeda will get mad if the US has diplomatic or trade ties with nations they don't like or vote at the UN in ways they don't like.
Al Qaeda also accuses the US of being behind Russia's actions in Chechya and Indias actions in the Kashmir and accuses the US of being behind Chinas' oppression of muslims.

They also demand 600 trillion dollars for compensation for the crusades and blame the US for low oil prices.

More than that what gives them the right to tell the US what do with other mideast nations?
Who does Al Qaeda represent ? Why ought they be allowed to control the gulf?
One of the reasons they want the gulf is to use the oil to blackmail the US.
Why ought the US let them do it? |

(1) end U.S. aid to Israel;
(2) U.S. withdrawal from Arabian peninsula;
(3) end of U.S. involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan; ( Remember Al Qaeda attacked the US )
(4) end of U.S. support for Muslim oppression by China, 
Russia,
India,
etc.;
5) Muslim control of oil and sale at market prices
