BoA has been secretly preparing her US debut album with Madonnas producer Peter Rafelson since last year. Unlike Se7en, Rain and other K-pop singers who spend their time flaunting about their grand US debut without producing any results, BoA has been concentrating on producing her album and honing her English skills because she understands the difficulty of crossing over to another country. Finally, someone is approaching the American Dream in a more sensible way.
BoAs US debut plans will be released in March and her US debut is scheduled for May.
Good luck BoA! |

Wasn't Rain supposed to be unlike all the other Korean stars? Maybe in a few months there will be an article that says "Unlike Se7en, Rain, and BoA, [insert name of Korean pop-bot here] is concentrating on..." I don't see why K-pop couldn't be big in America, because it's entirely American in style. But they'd need some heavy industry connections to force it down our throats.
It's funny how the tiny island of Jamaica has more influence on American pop than the entire continent of Asia. |

Although I'm not a fan of her music, I'd say she has a better chance than Rain. She speaks English after a fashion and where Rain had all the boys in San Fransisco and Asian women in a titter, at least BoA is attractive to her target demographic for an American audience. |

Isn't she a wicked gal who is supposed to hate white men or, at least, caucasian males from the United States? She has a video that shows Evil White Yankee Business Man refusing to offer her a contract and getting murdered by her as a result. The lyrics of this thing are supposed to be full of racist fudge, too.

K-pop really, really sucks. For real. Sheesh.
It's depressing to hear it coming out of the earphones of MP3's worn by young men/boys on the subway/bus.
Poor, ignorant folks. There's a whole 'nother world out there, and they apparently have no idea about it.

yeah it's not like her music is going to bring anything new to the table in the states. it's just that it will be an asian female singing it - which will get the asian americans and guys with yellow fever excited.
enough to fuel a career on? maybe, i guess.
haha but yeah i feel sorry for all my 18-20 year old students. they all like kpop, even the guys. imagine a 20 year old guy in the states saying his favorite musician was britney spears. |

All of these cheesy Kpop people should just forget about touring in the US or paying some American pop producer (who knows they are taking the Kpop person to the bank anyway). Nothing will ever come of it.
I think they should all just try out for American Idol.
Seriously, William Hung has had far more success in the US than any Korean artist.
But then again, maybe Simon would vomit. |

She'll never make it, but I will admit she's got at least as much talent as all those American pop singers, and she's far easier on the eyes. |
