There are three components to any good conspiracy theory.

1. Make the claims vague enough that virtually any world event can be cited as "evidence". Whatever cannot be cited as evidence, can be cited as a distraction from the real evidence. This neatly covers all the bases.

2. Deride anyone who disbelieves in the conspiracy theory as a tool of the conspirators, or simply a willfully ignorant sheep.

3. Dark insinuations are preferred to outright accusations. The latter are far too likely to produce demands for "proof" and/or libel lawsuits.
