Hello,
I was wondering where I could find some DJ equipment here in Seoul. Also, I'm looking for some high quality DJ headphones as well. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Pete |

I don't know if there's anywhere more tailored to what you want.
But Nagwon music market seems to be where most people get their gear. Jongno 3 ga station, exit 5. Look for the run-down building that looks like a parking garage.
But be careful, lots of shysters there. |

There's definitely plenty of DJ gear at Nagwon.
For headphones, the best place I know is in Yongsan (fourth floor maybe? It's in the corner and has a prominent display wall with a pretty impressive array of brands/models). |

Dj equipment ?
Someone tryin to play "musician" without the talent part ?
Sorry . Ignore me . Just never met a "DJ" who wasn't a poser and a w@nker . Maybe I'm just ignorant and it's really an interesting and highly skilled past time . Maybe . |
Yes, plenty of skill involved and it's quite interesting... |

If you have any doubts that DJ's aren't skilled or no musicians. Click the link.

Yeah, I'm a DJ too. I agree, a lot of them are wankers. Guys who go out there and just mixer records and playing with a bunch of knob doesn't really do anything for me either. In order to be a real DJ, you have to be able to manipulate the music, samples, etc. to make your music that much better.
However, DJ's do often become successful producers.
Just my opinion... I'm sure there's a lot of people would disagree. But, I think the amount of dexterity required to be a scratch DJ as opposed to a guitarist is the same. |
