:: ARTISTS ::

:LTJ BUKEM:
Just who is LTJ Bukem? Ground breaking DJ? Inspirational musician? Record label entrepreneur? Club visionary, perhaps? When the man behind those wire rimmed glasses and that disarming smile writes his job description just what does he put? The man who took the drum and bass concept from a small venue off London's Charing Cross Road to the nation's superclubs and then onto the international stage? The geezer whose records launched breakbeat into a brand new galaxy of sound? Or maybe he just writes 'Renaissance man for a digital age'. In truth LTJ Bukem is all of the above.

Although he wouldn't like to admit it, LTJ Bukem is the living embodiment of the post-acid house entrepreneurial creative spirit. He is a mild mannered energy flash whose panoramic musical vision has found success in every area he has explored. From running soundsystems to cutting up breaks at raves, from relocating the heart of breakbeat culture to redefining the spirit of drum and bass, the man known to his friends as Danny Williamson has sat at the forefront of breakbeat evolution, lighting the way with little more than a zest for life and a love of music. In other words, LTJ Bukem is a man on a mission!

:MC CONRAD:
Few people can lay claim to being the definitive voice of their profession. It just so happens that MC Conrad is one of those few. From the early rave days and his partnership with LTJ Bukem, through Speed to Logical Progression II, MC Conrad has come to be a defining element in the drum 'n bass scene - a seal of approval and mark of quality.

But there is more to MC Conrad than his voice. Music has always been an influence. A young Conrad grew up listening to the family record collection, absorbing a variety of vocal styles and musical genres. When developing his own tastes, the 2-tone and early electro scenes were well favoured. This involvement with urban street music moved Conrad toward the hip hop scene and the first inkling of his desire to make music himself. Picking up a microphone, Conrad began to rap for a local hip hop band and started to develop an individual style.

Cheers for posting that Seoulvibes!

Not seen Bukem for a few years, but he's always excellent. Conrad is probably the one MC that I don't want to kill. Hate them, can't they just let us listen the track and shut up!

What's the soundsystem like in the venue?

Ditto! I generally can't stand MCs. Conrad actually adds something extra. I should check this out. Smile

Hype et al.

Andy C has been known to get nasty.

Ed Rush and Optical.

Generation Dub were my next door neighbours before they became Generation Dub. Nice lads very happy they made it.

.....

Will make a note thought that I haven't been to a club in over 5 years. I'm well out of touch with what is going on. Last vinyl I bought was back in '98 during the dark and dirty jump up era. Joker records and some cheesy jumpy tunes.

I met Ed Rush in Stockholm once, really nice bloke.

Hardest I've seen were Bad company and Dieselboy. That was mash up!

What label are Generation Dub on? Might have to google it and stop being a lazy sh*t.

.....

Similar. Maybe 4 years. Slowly going out of touch with it. Until I found torrents of discographies. Those nights are long gone, need to grow up at some point. Brain cells needed for later life objectives.

There you go.

Were on Proganda but they appear to have moved.

Haven't really kept up with them.

Just listened to some of their tunes on that link and brought back some happy memories.

Farking hell a trip down memory lane
