Here is what I think was the CAUSE of the problem...

the virus "autorun - jumps from drive to drive...

all the anti-virus programs ( AVG, Avast, Trend-mircro, Bit, etc) were unable to quarantine/disinfect or erase the virus - as the virus - keeps jumping away (from drive to drive)...

Windows Live OneCare - was the only anti-virus program to - take immediate action and locked the virus into the drives...

(By locking the drives) - I am still able to use the computer - internet, programs etc etc - but I just COULD NOT open the drives...

because Windows Live OneCare had locked the drives - to prevent the virus from getting out...

Now - because I backed up all my documents, files, etc etc into a different source (Total Media BackUp) then formatted (by right clicking on the drives and clicking format) - E, F, G drives - it COMPLETELY erased everything from those drives (including the virus) which had been locked in those drives...

therefore I am now able to open E, F, G drives again - and I was able to place all my docs/files/etc etc back into those drives - (but WITHOUT the virus) - because the virus had already been blocked by Windows Live OneCare .

Only I cannot format or open "C drive" without reformatting the computer...

so I guess - it is now safe to reformat the computer (via "C drive" because that will completely solve all problems - and allow me to open "C drive" again -

and the virus will have been completely removed from my computer (removed from ALL drives)...

I just HATE reformatting....

but at the moment - (without reformatting yet) all problems have been solved - only I cannot open "C drive" - because the virus is still locked inside...

.
