Has any guy here dated a Russian girl? (perhaps this thread has been posted before?)

I know most of them including the 3 that lived in my apartment are party sleezes, but some on them are really quite nice-not to mention physically appeasing.

I met this one dancer (a 10!!!, I've been to Vladivostok once before and the women there are FINE-this goes to all of you who stereotype the average white girl). I don't know how they stay in shape because exercise there is like non-existent). We dated casually on and off for about 4 months before she decided to go back. Yes, she had enough sense to go back to finish her studies. But it was fun while it lasted. We were going to meet again, this time in Canada, but I haven't heard from her since.

If anyone else has a similar tale, I'd like to know about it and the cultural differences you faced.

I've had a passing and passive interest.. but never really pursued or had anything fall in my lap in this regard..

I've heard lots of stories.. but no first hand experience. Most people I've met who have become familiar with Russians really don't like them? Why is that?

I had a couple friends from East Germany who just hated them.. as well as a Korean nightclub owner who was very familiar with them. I've never become familiar with any.. the few I've met seemed nice.. but distant.

On the other hand.. a good friend of mine in NYC would search out Russian girls.. he loved to go drinking.. and they loved to go drinking.. but he said that usually they had an intense sadness about them (which is actually kind of attractive)..

Anyhow.. interesting topic.. wouldn't mind hearing more..

Yes, there is that distinctive sadness about them. When I first met Katrinka(she was half-German/half-Russian), I really couldn't help notice her eyes.
She seemed so lost and distant at times, and then suddenly she would light up.

Then again, dead silence and retreat.

A continuous cycle.
I didn't know whether to feel more empathy or understand that Russians are all like this.

But, yeah, there is unbound attractiveness about it.

White Nights
It was a dark rainy night and I wandered into Geckos for a pint. It was my 4th month in Seoul and I was pretty down on life, the job, alienation and generally just living it up in Asia. Another hogwan friend was supposed to meet me, but he never showed. I sat at the far end of the bar, alone, dejected and rapidly getting more drunk. Soldiers and Nigerians monopolized the pool table and a few drunk Koreans and teachers sat around at the scattered tables. I smoked cigarettes, read the paper and tried not to look to much like a loser. I noticed two young women sitting in the stools a couple of seats down from me and I half-heartedly struck up a conversation. They both turned out to be Russian (one was from Vladivostok and the other was from Khabarosk?). One worked as a hostess in various clubs in Seoul and the other was a recruiter for a company that brought eastern Russian girls in on entertainment visas to various Asian cities like Seoul and Tokyo. We all left together and walked up hooker hill and found a cozy pochang macha about mid way up. I was feeling generous and ordered sundae and a couple of bottles of soju for the ladies. Afterall, I was lonely and miserable at the time. It was in November and getting bitter cold. A light rain with ice in it began to fall. Soon enough, the hostess grew jealous of her friend as her and I were doing most of the talking. She stumbled off into the night and I was left with the recruiter named Natasha, an average looking 24 year old with a nice body. She commenced to tell me her sob story, how the korean ajoshi who recruited her cheated her out of everything she had, made her live in a room with ten other girls, wouldn't pay her the 300,000 won a month salary they had agreed to her, constantly tried to sleep with her, etc. In truth, her story made me very sad. She lived in Kimpo, but it was getting late and she asked if she could stay at my apartment in Kangnam. I agreed and we returned in a taxi. She was a very sweet girl. I paid for her taxi back to Kimpo the next day. I saw her a couple of other times, but nothing serious developed. The last time I saw her, as a memento, she gave me a crumpled Russian ruble. All these months later it's still in my wallet and occasionally I take it out and think of her.

Hahahaha, that's a nice story! I enjoyed it! It sounded a little too well prepared but I'll take it in good stride. Glad to see you still have the momento.

I especially liked the "I smoked cigarettes" beginning. Like a Charles D-i-c-k-e-n-s novel.

I was married to a Russian for 9 years. Russians are rates as being one of the most unhappy poulations on the face of the earth. And in my opinion it's true. If you wanna date one I say go for it but keep in mind to them you will mainly be a source of 2nd income aka. party money. If they want to get serious then run like crazy. If they aren't providing you with what you're after ditch them in a hurry and move on to the next. There's far better women out there to choose from. And believe me being around a sour puss Russian will rub off on you. I knew many other guys whe were dating/married to one and they all were an emotional drain to their men.

i still say the russian/ slavic/ eastern european women are some of the most sexy, savy women on the earth.

and the vodka ... my god !!!

it's a shame the king club in itaewon is geared towards nigerian and ajosshiis ............
