The racist, bug-eyed, frothy vitriol at Asiafinest is a reflection of losers with low-paying jobs, no girlfriends, few if any prospects. To argue otherwise is to stray from what is reasonable, decent and proper.
Korea has a sex ratio of 1.01 (meaning for every 10 million Korean girls, there are 10,100,000 Korean guys), meaning demand for young, attractive women is at a premium. The likelihood of racist, stupid people on an online forum like that being attractive high-earners is 0% whilst guys on here earn, taking free accommodation into account, almost as much as families of three. I earn 4.2, meaning I bank $3,000 per month. That means guys on here, especially those proficient in Korean, can blow away low status opposition and the rampant hostility from some Korean males towards us reflects this simple fact.
Look at countries with lots and lots of angry males and look at the sex ratios: Saudi (1.96 males for every girl), Iran (1.026), Iraq (1.024), Jordan (1.102), Kuwait (1.526), Libya (1.052), Gaza (1.037).
Notice how violent hotbeds like Iceland, Sweden and Greece have more women? |
Actually the sex ratio is worse than you think when you look at the eligible age of between 15 and 64:
Sex ratio: at birth: 1.08 male(s)/female
under 15 years: 1.106 male(s)/female
15-64 years: 1.038 male(s)/female
65 years and over: 0.688 male(s)/female
total population: 1.01 male(s)/female (2007 est.)
That means for every 10 million Korean girls there are going to be 10million 380 000 Korean guys and if you look to the future at the under 15 year-old sex ratio its even bleaker. I believe this is a reason for a rise in hostility against foreign males in Korea, its natural that in a diminishing market competition will increase.
Of course the Koreans have only themselves to blame for this as their adherence to confucianist son-preference and the despicable practice of sex-selective abortion is completely to blame (and not foreigners) for ther lack of women.
However, while I actually agree with you on this point this is not what you stated in the earlier post. You made blanket generalisations about East Asian culture:
Quote:
"in East Asia, it (racism) is the norm rather than the exception"
and
"The reason for East Asian, particularly Korean, males subscribing to such primitive, barbarically-violent and offensive views is equally obvious and simple: they are deprived of sex as the low status, low-earning folks that they are."
This is what I objected too, you need to be careful of not generalising to a whole culture the actions of a minority. I believe the majority of Koreans are not racist to a serious degree as you imply. |

Many thanks for those stats.

Seems reasonable enough to me.

Well, the context is a discussion about the angry online guys - so that's what I meant. I find it very difficult to believe the foaming at the mouth online guys are anything but low-paid riff-raff.

Political correctness and the racial liberalism of Western countries are in stark contrast to Korea and elsewhere in the East. I believe that was my point, about culture. You're far more likely to encounter explict racism here than anywhere else I've been to. |
