Today I took the subway from Cheonan to Cheongryangri. My destination today was to Uijeongbu Immi to pick up my brand new F-2 visa. So the end of the line for that particular subway train was Cheongryangri (sorry for the bad spelling; I can't even pronounce this well either). So naturally everyone gets off and waits on the platform for the northward train to Soyosan. So everyone gets off and the train moves; almost empty of passengers. Almost empty. I saw some poor ajosshi completely passed out still in there. Nobody had the gall or the jeong to wake him up. (Not criticizing, just observing; I would have probably been too shy and nervous to try to wake him up myself if I was in the same car).
I have observed this a few times and I am just curious to know if this has happened to anyone.
What is it they do to you when they take you beyond the endpoint? I've conjured many guesses. I called 1330 and they said they didn't have that information available. |

Well, I guess if it's the last train of the night you could be in for an expensive taxi ride back home, depending on how far that is from the end. Otherwise, I guess you go around for another loop. |

The authorities may just ask to check out your package, and then offer you a role in Korean pornography. That seems to be all the rage nowadays. |

A couple weeks ago I was at Suseo transfering from the Bundang line to line 3. Suseo is one of the end stations for line number 3, so the trains start from here. Anyway, it pulls up and there's this drunk guy lying across the benches. One guy who may have been an employee tried to wake him up but he just wanted to be left alone. So he slept there across from me for my entire journey, and probably woke up somewhere north. |

I bet there's a sleeper on every train. I myself have gently woken a person next to me when we had to leave because the train was being taken out of service. Yeah, not sure why people don't have the decency to try and prod their neighbor awake. The great unity of the Korean people 'n' all. |

I know why. It's called 'jung overload'. If you have so much jung, it overflows and causes the opposite effect. |

I stayed out saturday night and got myself quite drunk...
Since I live in Bundang I thought I would walk down to the bus stop in Dankook Uni and catch the first bus home (its at around 5am).
I remember getting on the bus....then I woke up and the bus was off and no one (including the driver!) was on it. After looking around I realized I was in the bus parking lot and I was locked inside! I had to bang on the window to get one of the cleaner's (on the other bus) attention. Not sure how long I was out or if they tried to wake me up. All I know is I'm avoiding the 9401 for a while |

Meanwhile, at the bus station coffee shop, ten drivers who just went off their shifts peed themselves laughing as they watched you trying to escape. |

I'm a regular subway napper, but fortunate that people have always woken me. The thought of ending up in a train lot is not a pleasant one. |

Made the transfer at Samgachi after a night of drinking (managed to lose not only my mates but also the bar we were in ... first night out in Seoul) and was headed south on the blue line on the first train of the morning ... I wokeup late morning as we were crossing the Han River ... going north!!! Got onto a southbound train and stayed standing until I got off at Geumjeong. Ticket got rejected by the machine (I think I'd been on too long) and I'd run out of cash .... charades with the subway man and I was let out the gate.
My flatmate pissed herself laughing when I finally got back to our apartment ..... but the shoe was on the other foot when she did the same the following weekend (arriving home mid-aftrnoon). She was woken up at the end of the line ... but promptly fell asleep again, missing our station another couple of times |

I think it's a "wages of sin" thing. Prodding a napper is ok. But some drunk jagoff who's sprawled all over the seats... to hell with him. |
