Like the OP, me and my GF have just spent all of the Lunar break curled up in bed suffereing a dreadful bout flu. I'm back in school today and still feel like 5hit - sneezing, terrible aching across my back and shoulders, cold sweats etc it's been awful and I've been thoroughly pi55ed of with it. |

I've had the odd little cold here and there, and one 24-hour stomach bug, but nothing serious. I rarely get sick anyway, must be the pure blood.
I am however, sick of Korea. I want to get the hell out and back to Canada. I'd like to be able to complain about my employer, but they're absolutely great, no problems whatsoever. The work itself sucks, I get headaches in class every single day now, I'm sick of getting stared at, and hearing the same comments day in day out from people.
The only thing that is keeping me here is thinking of that nice Ibanez 7-string and Marshall stack I'm gonna buy when this weak ordeal is over. It can't come soon enough.
I'm almost 1/3 through my contract, and I've wanted out since the first week. There's a reason why Korea pays so well, no one wants to come here! |

I fogrot to mention - doing a sinus rinse when you start to get a head cold is awesome. It really shortens the duration of your cold and it also prevents it from becoming a sinus infection.

Don't know where you would get it here - my dad brought it when he came to visit. It's uncomfortable while you're getting used to it - but it's so beneficial!
I think that plus a lots of vitamin C, a low meat diet, lots of tea and the flu shot I got have kept me from getting sick so far this winter. |

Gargle with salt in warm water, or aspirin, for a sore throat (usually a precursor for full blown flu / bronchitis, in my case). |

Yes I'm a germaphobe and you sound a lot like me! haha I wash my hands all the time and I get my folks to send me 4 bottles of hand sanitizer from back home.
Hope the worst is over. |
I have no aversion to hygiene, but you have probably weakened your immune system in doing this. I've heard numerous stories of hygiene freaks getting sick all the time.
I'm a bit of a slob, drink pretty heavily, and eat street food, and I've never been sick here.
Perhaps the street food has toughened my immune system. Maybe it was my upbringing. I remember my uncle smearing jam on my face then letting his labrador lick it off. |
