I received my visa today and the issue date says 8th of February, 2008 and the period of sojourn is 1 year. But I take it that year begins when I enter Korea, is that correct?
Also under entries it has s, I guess that means single entry? Does that mean I cant leave the country on holiday to say Japan or my visa will become invalid?

Your issue date is 8th of Feb. It will expire (if not used) on the 8th of May.

Your period of sojourn is 1 year beginning on the date you enter Korea.

Your visa is a single entry. If you wish to leave on a vacation or 2 or 3 and return you must get a re-entry permit from the immigration office. If you fail to do so AND you take a trip out of the country THEN your E2 visa will be canceled.

(the easiest time to get your re-entry permit is when you apply for your ARC - Alien Registration Card. Get your multi-re-entry permit at the same time and save yourself having to worry about it later). The cost is 50k won for a multi-entry permit.

You can also do it later. 30k won for a single re-entry permit (at the airport before you leave) or 50k for a multi (at your local immigration office).

Hope that has cleared things up a bit for you.

Thanks for the info Smile
Are there are any special documents required to get the multi-entry permit?

Passport, ARC (may be applied for concurrently), application and fee.
