My boyfriend and I are moving to Seoul cuz I got a teaching contract. My boyfriend is actually Spanish and has an electrical engineering degree so I'm wondering what the chances are of him getting a job in a related field. His English isn't perfect but he's fluent to manage a job.
Are there websites (in English) where you can look for jobs before he comes to Seoul?
Or is it easier for him to just teach Spanish (even if he doesn't have a teaching degree)?

Also, is there some kind of holidaymaker type visa for Korea?

It'd be tough... nearly impossible. If he is a recent grad (within the last few months) he might stand a chance of getting a job with an international company. People who graduated years before that have more difficulty, as companies like to hire new/young blood.

There are a few Spanish hagwons, but I don't know where. He might be able to scrounge up some private lessons teaching Spanish. It'd be illegal work, though. People sometimes advertise on koreaherald.com for that sort of thing.

It�s not easy to easy to find a none English teaching related job.
The best thing I can suggest is find out what you boyfriend wants to do then visit the bars or restaurant were the managers of that industry hang out and try and network and make friends with someone. As he is Spanish he will be an oddity and interesting to them.
I have found that it is who you know to get the jobs when it is not English teaching related.

As for the holiday visa I am not sure, at the worst he could get a visitor visa which gives you about 3 months, a trip in and out of Japan will give him another 3 month after that.

Also get in touch with other Spanish speaking people ASAP, there are a lot of communities out there and they might be able to lend a hand.

I've been trying to help another guy out who's in the same situation, only he's Irish. He's not up for teaching English, and wants to find a labour job to keep him busy while his girlfriend teaches English.

Seoul has a shortage of good Mexican joints. Perhaps your boyfriend would be willing to provide some authentic Mexican cuisine.
