Hey guys -

I've always been to the immigration office at Omokgyo station, but I feel like the one in Jongno is closer to me.

I need to extend my ARC by one whole day.

I heard that only people living in certain areas can go to the Jongno office. Is this true? I live in Yongsan-gu (close to Itaewon). Can I go to the Jongno office to get this done, or do I have to go all the way out to Omokgyo?

Also, it says I should take exit 6 of Gyeongbokgung station, but that is all it says for directions. Can you see the building immediately upon exiting the station? Thanks for any help you guys can give me!

Smile

It is in a building called the SK hub. The easiest way to get there is to go to Anguk station.

I just found an old thread about the topic here, scroll down and there is a map:

Basically the easiest way is to use Anguk exit 6, then turn around when you come out (so you are heading away from Insadong) then you will pass a police station on your right. The SK hub is just past that. There is a 7-11 (or some other convience store) on the ground floor. You need to go up to the second floor.

And I would recommend going early as otherwise it can be a long wait.

As for whether you can go there, Im not sure. Have you tried this site?

I remember seeing that information somewhere, I will keep looking.

I was just there at 4 today and it was already so frickin' crowded that they had stopped issuing numbers.

The last time I went (last year) there was a system in place where whether you had to go to Mokdong or not depended on what district in Seoul you lived in; but when I called last week to check, they said that system isn't in place any more.

Yeah, I've waited there for 2 hours. My number finally got called and then they told me I didnt have the right documents.

I went back the next day, taking what they told me to, I waited for 2 hours again, and then they told me I was missing something else. I almost started crying.

The next day I went right when it opened, and it took less than 10 minutes.
