|
|
From the other threads I have learned that I need the following to transfer my Visa:
1. passport
2. ARC
3. official application form that indicates "alteration or addition of employment place" with a photo attached (this was emailed as an attachment from my new uni, but is a form that I assume can be found in the immigration office)
4. release letter from old job
5. new contract from new job
6. letter of guarantee from new job
7. 60,000 won fee
Now can I go with all of these things alone to immigration or do I have to bring someone from my old job and someone from my new job?
Also my Visa officially ends March 31st. I want to transfer to a new job to start on March 1st or March 7th and then extend my visa for another year. Does anyone know if I have to let the visa expire before extending it like my new job seems to think? The whole point of the transfer was so I could extend before the march 15th date.
Thanks! |

Looks like you've got everything covered here. Except it'll be 90,000 won: 60,000 for the transfer and 30,000 for the extension (or maybe it's the other way around, but the total comes to 90,000).

Theoretically you can go alone, but it might be advisable to bring someone with you, especially if you don't speak any Korean.

You MUST apply for the transfer and extension prior to the expiration of your current sojourn. If your permission for stay under the current visa expires, you must obtain a new visa and jump through all the hoops pertaining thereto. |

I'm in the same boat. I was told by my future employer (who apparently spoke with an immigration official) that you cannot transfer from private to private without the new documents. I went ahead and ordered them. 50 bucks and a two weeks wait. No biggie. |

I transfered my Visa about 2 weeks ago from a private school to a new private school. After months of headache with which documents I would need etc, I decided to just stroll into the Visa office in Incheon with my passport, Arc, new contract and letter of release. 3 minutes, 90,000 later I walked out with a new 1 year Visa. They did not ask for anything.
.. Maybe I was lucky. |
