That would make you level 2. Next year you will be elligible for 2+ However, I strongly recommend you take a 100 hour TESL course this year and perhaps you will be moved up to level 1 next year. The course pays for itself within a month or two of your new salary.

I don't mean to sound negative I am trying to justify my demand to be status-ed as a 2+.

My reading of the Chart on the EPIK website.

States 1 year experience is level 2 and remaining in the same POE with 1 year experience is level 2+.

Does anyone else read it that way?

At the end of this upcoming contract I will be returning to FL to obtain such certification, I also expect to certify as a teacher in FL.

To be level 2+ you will need to have been Level 2 for one year.

If you were a level 2 then you'd move up to 2+ with another contract renewal. Like Kimchieluver said, a TEFL qual would bump you up the two levels but as it is now you'd just go to level 2.

Hopefully you'll get a pay raise with re-signing because I know they dropped the pay scale by 100 000 for each level from Sep 07. So hopefully you won't be worse off. Let us know what happens because I'll be re-signing in June and am hoping to at least keep my same, if not slightly increased wage.

2+

As a Level 2, contract renewal at the same POE

Not to pick a nit (Okay it is a nit but nit are important in contract law)
but it does NOT say as a level 2 for one year.

See the 1+ requirement where it states the longevity necessary.
