As is custom in Korea the perpetrator must return to the scene of the crime and reenact the crime. Although it was difficult to get a good shot of him wit hall the news crews around, he is the gray haired man with the white mask.

Near the beginning of the video you hear someone yell Yaaa, thats me responding to a rude camera man attempting to push me out of the way.

Not much to see, but they kept him well hidden

There was nothing there worth seeing. What should I have looked for? The Korean girls rear-ends?

He is the grey haired man. He was well hidden by the police. When he's at the gate entrance you see him, but again only a glimpse.

I think the court will show leniency toward him.

No. They'll be lenient because he is old and shows contrition for his crime. You have to read the newspapers in Korea. Chaebol, etc.

They shouldn't seeing as they showed the same to him the last time he burned down a national treasure.

You'd think they'd pull their heads out of their butts this time and jail the guy.

Remember, they caught him because he'd already been caught burning down another ancient structure. They figured it was him, searched his home, and found the stuff he'd used to burn Namdemun.

So this makes the guy guilty of the Namdaemoon arson?

Any arsonist can have the same materials, simply researched on the internet. Mistaken identity?

I haven't been closely following this story. However,
didn't this guy give a confession? It could have been coerced.

True, it would make it much better for Korea if it was just some wacko who did this before, and it makes them look better when they caught the guy so quickly. I'm not saying the police coerced it out of him, but it is a thought.

I think I'll go burn down a Korean National Treasure, so that I'll have a national forum to air all the grievances of Foreigners here. The news will put me on TV non-stop, ask me why I did it, and give me the soap box I wanted.

Seriously, get a f!cking clue, Korean news.

Yeah, like Park Han Se and the Rutland, Vermont police.

Just a thought, eh,

Yes, K.L., the title of my post and scepticism of the Rutland police were excessive.
