You'd think so, but remember, some of these people are not just venting. When one vents, they get their temporary frustrations out and they won't need to vent again for a while. But hate is different. It doesn't end. It just builds and gathers momentum.

Screw off with your persecution complex. Oh, Christians are being hated, Christians are being persecuted. While in some ways Christianity had it coming, it's still not right if it ever happens. Maybe in some countries it does, but not here nor in our home countries. We just want lives without Christianity in it, and there does have to be threads like this to get people to stop making laws based on your Bible. These are not hate threads. Go look at some Christian ones for that! (though I will admit, there are some wacko atheists out there who are just as dangerous, but they are a much smaller percentage).

No persecution complex here. A bunch of people creating thread after thread railing against Chritianity and the Bible does really affect me or other Christians. I don't feel persecuted. I can simply not read it if it bothers me that much. But it is clear there is some hate going on here.

I'm sure posting rant after rant against Christianity on Dave's will have a great influence on Congress.

Here on Dave's? I'm sure there are "hate threads" on just about anything from just about any group somewhere on the Net. But on Dave's these days, I just don't see what the atheists are reacting to (other than on the evolution thread).

Anyway, I think that threads of this type belong in the "Off-Topic" forum - it doesn't really deal with "living in Korea" issues ...

Living in Korea does mean you have to skim past the ramblings of the crazy extremist dudes whoes belief is to not to believe.

The wise will never get it.

There is some equivalent between belief in God and not believing? That there is belief in beleif and belief in non-belief? What a strange epistemology.

This reminds me of the argument which calls atheist fundamentally religious in his or her belief system, whereas no dogma can rightly be formed founded on a negation.

I am a fundamentalist in my fanatical and religious belief that Thor, to whom we dedicate Thor's day, is an imaginary entity. I believe in my unbelief.

I believe in not believing in thing for which there is no evidence (save when a deeply rooted need in belonging to my peer group forces me to hold propositions which are in all probablility false and which are in contradition to the better angels of my reason.)

Show me the Christian who has a reason to beleive in Christianity which is not rooted in feeling; ie, an emotional need. That Christian I have yet to meet.

Show me. They are frustrated, yes. Show me the hate.

It's the fact that people are finally really starting to question religion (and to be able to). Just because people were allowed free speech since the start, doesn't mean they could say what they wanted. Show me one proclaimed atheist in American politics. So yes, even these threads are a start to changing their mind.

People still trying to pass laws that are based on the Bible, maybe?

A system that cannot incorporate dinosaurs is as deserving of respect as a pile of fetid garbage; not to mention that Christianity is the severest conception of totalitarianism ever imagined. Opposition to, rigorous criticism and mockery of religion is, alongside climate change, the single most pressing issue facing civilization.

I think the church was too busy killing natives to worry about it defending its legitimacy.

I already explained that ranting due to frustration doesn't manifest itself in post after post on multiple threads. Frustration does not lead to obsession. It fizzles out. I'm not sure what one could "show" you that you would concede is hate. I don't know what you think qualifies. My guess is that if it is against Christians, you will always call it mere "frustration." A guy comes on a few days and rants about Koreans for a while because he recently felt slighted or ripped off or discriminated against; that is frustration. A guy comes and posts nothing but negative stuff about Koreans day after day on multiple threads? That's beyond frustration. Maybe you don't agree. I know some posters post out of frustration and I often agree with their frustration. (public yellers, pamphlet-pushers, house calls, etc.) But other posters don't appear to be posting from mere frustration. If they are, they need medication because frustration should not dominate someone life so completely for so long.

I notice you keep using this reason for all these threads, and yet I have read very few posts on these threads that have anything to do with legislation or proposed legislation. It is especially odd now when it seems certain the US will not have a president with ties to the "religious right" come next year. Yet it's a fear of Bible-based laws that is fueling these threads? Please. I see even some atheists are getting tired of this stuff.

One, not all of us are Americans nor care about what your country does, but cares that the Bible keeps coming up in our countries too. Two, I have seen some other threads and there are too many of these threads now and it is now annoying. I have actually posted in defence of Christians a few times here (not often, as it's really hard to defend Christianity), but I started on this one because someone said that Atheism was the cause of killings, which it isn't.

I know you have defended Christians at times. I recall those sorts of things. And as for atheism being the cause of killings, well, that's all on another thread. There's nothing about that here.
