So how exactly do they work? From what I know you can use them to access sites that are blocked because of your location, is this true? (MLB.tv blocks South Korea from watching the MLB playoffs and Pandora is also blocked).

Any help would be appreciated.

Does a US proxy show that the connection is from the US?

I tried using a UK proxy to listen to sport on the radio, but was told that I couldn't because I was outside the UK, on an error message?

I've given up trying to find a way round it.

Costs about $4 to 15 a month depending on the provider.

Vidalia is a good one, it is I guess what you could best describe as a multi-layered proxy

There are a lot of free proxies out there but most of them are slow. Either pay for one or try out Vidalia and see how it goes. If you're only using a proxy for web browsing, you can use websites that open other websites within the original website
