We ordered pizza from Pizza Hut near Sungshin Womens' University yesterday. We paid 18,900 won for this cheese-crust pizza, and man, were we disappointed. I bugged my wife to complain about it, which we did.

The staff there was really nice, and the assistant manager on staff at the time felt sorry about it, but there really is no call for a $20 pizza being this cheap. I can remember a day when Pizza Hut pizzas were far better than this.

To her credit, the manager sent us another pizza (different crust style) for free to eat. Even still, we probably won't bother spending so much money at Pizza Hut again in the future. She said we ordered the cheaper "thin crust style", however there was no indication on the Korean menu that this was a thin crust pizza.

My wife talked to her at length about how poorly the menu was set-up. We knew it wasn't her fault, but we asked her to please pass our displeasure on to the district office. The pizzas are not only expensive to begin with, you also have to pay an additional amount for each topping on the pizza. The menu is obviously set up to rape the consumer for as much cash as possible in the least noticeable way.

The manager's original excuse for the poor pizza: that we hadn't ordered enough toppings, so our pizza was thin. I told her it's ridiculous that we spent nearly 20,000 won on a pizza that was nearly devoid of even tomato sauce or cheese. Keep in mind, it already had 2 toppings on it (Ham and Pineapple).

Not heading to Pizza Hut again anytime soon!

For 11,000 won (local pizza delivery place) we get a pizza twice as big and three times as thick -- with a free 2 liter of coke. And no... there isn't any corn. Laughing

I don't even like Pizza Hut back home. I guess here the main draw is the exoticness of eating "Western food," but the insane prices plus the absolutely ridiculous toppings keeps me away.

Pizza Hut is crap pizza in the States. Why would you assume it would be good in Korea?

Yea it has. I never cared much for Pizza Hut but it's the only one that will deliver to my apartment since it's just outside the city. I ordered a large pepperoni and and got a pizza with cheese and crust. It tasted like unbaked dough. I guess I have to order a pizza specifing WITH SAUCE.

Pizza hut used to make money hand-over-fist here, but that was before they got tons of competition. My old boss owned one, but he said he's never buying another one, the margins aren't in the business anymore. Too many 10,000 and 5,000 won pizza places now.

I remember Pizza Hut 15 years ago, I guess. I don't eat it often.

That picture looks like of a Domino's pizza not a Pizza Hut slice. Shocked

Same here. It was great back in Canada when I was younger.

Pizza Hut pizza was always too greasy for me. In the States, the worst experience I had with them was when my dad and I went to a Pizza Hut on a rather busy place rather than going to Godfather's or any other place. Had to wait for a about 30minutes to be waited on, only to find out there were no large pizzas available, they didn't premake enough dough that morning... they thought it was going to be a slow Saturday or something. Then another hour before we got our pizza... When it got to our table it was oily as hell... I pulled a slice and oil from the top of the pizza pooled over the rest of the tray... we got a ton of napkins to wipe off as much as we could, ate some and said screw it. Two fairly big people not even finishing a medium sized pizza... that's how unappetizing it was.

please elaborate. i fail to understand what was wrong with it, other than it being mass produced nutritionally lacking crud.

what specifically was it lacking? or, what was it that caused it to not measure up.?

pizza hut isn't good pizza anywhere. the price of such is way too high in korea- perhaps to offset the niceness of the restaurants. the restaurants are much more upscale than the ones back home. that backnowledged, the pizza huts in both countries make some pretty horrific pizzas.

crust, sauce, cheese, topping(s) straight out of the pepsico/YUM! brands distribution center. what is there not to love?

From what i remember, Pizza hut in the states was a deep dish meal ,not really thin pizza.

Always find one of those 5000 or 7000Won pizza places.

Im Sil pizza is the biggest rip off.

They're full of college-aged women who order the salad bar.

And here I was, wondering why you like to hang out at Pizza Hut so often.
