Excellent notion.

They must obey me. Look, it's real simple stuff: DON'T.......EAT.......DOLPHINS. Anyone who kills or eats such beautiful, intelligent, benevolent creatures is a monstrously vile, parasitic sub-human and it disgusts me that I am forced to breath the same air as them.

Is eating dolphin bad because they are smart or because they are endangered?

Dolphins are good because they are soft and gentle.

There isn't a single mention, not one, anywhere in those articles of dolphins getting beaten to death. It says they are speared and get their throats cut, but nothing whatsoever about being beaten or killed in any way resembling the way Korean dogs are (as you originally said). I don't think I'm being picky, you simply shouldn't have posted that they get beaten to death, since that is false. There's enough misinformation out their already...

here's the deal

eating dolphin meat is exactly the same as eating the meat of a really friendly but mentally retarded kid who can't speak your language and likes to swim.

so the next time you dolphin-meat-o-philes are back home and the korean down's syndrome society comes on a tour, if you really have the nerve i suggest that you slice one of them up and eat them.

i can't imagine what you'd tell your friends at a party, or what they'd say -

"ooh, when cedric was abroad, did you hear that he ate DOLPHIN MEAT?"

i can't imagine it making anyone want to chow down on your genitals. i think even the open minded, cultural relativist douchetard lonely planet set may even size you up and say "you are a massive, unconscionable shit head and need to be avoided like conjunctivitis or staph infections".

I'm eating a dolphin-elephant-giraffe-dog sandwich right now. With kochujang and mustard with a little pepper. Mmm.

*shrug* I'm flattered you're so concerned, though. Smile Although, I think I said it was a long time ago and articles on the 'net never stay long. (And why're you so hung up on the "almost like" thing?) It could have been bad journalism or the guy's mellow-dramatic interpretation of what he thought was happening. Either way, if it is false, misinformation happens. C'est la 'net.

are you actually suggesting the life of a DOLPHIN is equal to the life of a human child?
I know this is a bizzare post but...
it would be better for all dolphins to DIE painfully then one human child suffer.

The thought of eating dolphin is kind of gross though.

Eating dolphin is bad for the reasons I gave (dolphins are beautiful, benevolent and highly intelligent). Yes, I know 'beautiful' is subjective, but 'dolphins are beautiful' is a popularly subscribed to belief is objective. It's not an appeal-to-belief fallacy, because that occurs when there's a factual discussion taking place. This is a discussion on right and wrong (morally) and popular opinion, people's emotions, that which disgusts the soul, is highly relevant.

Pigs are also highly intelligent, but they, unfortunately for them, are ugly, dirty and smelly, so it's okay for them to be simultaneously intelligent yet the most popular meat on earth (and we probably discovered how intelligent pigs are having eaten them for centuries previously). I feel sorry for pigs because they don't get the preferential treatment dogs and dolphins get. And hey, I couldn't care less what Jews and Muslims think. Those folks believe in (and worship) a celestial genocidal dictator, so their position on pigs is automatically irrelevant and false.

If dolphins are endangered - and I recall a Japanese authority on CNN say they're not - that's extra reason for the total annihilation of those killing them. Dolphins get preferential treatment because they're smart, cool, playful, very friendly towards humans and killing them for food, often slowly and painfully, must be stopped and those responsible burned at the stake - live coverage after tonight's sports perhaps!

There really is no logical reason not to eat dolphin unless they are endangered like Justin Hale says. Maybe in the future we can scientifically show the intelligence factor and make a line, but at the moment, most lines would be arbitrary. I would never eat dolphin, but I also can't tell people they can't without an emotional reason, which means no real reason at all. The killing of any animal in any horrible way is very, very wrong. I don't even eat much meat anymore, maybe once a week. At the moment, assuming they aren't endangered, you can't logically be for eating pigs while being against eating dolphins. You can have an emotional stance, but that is it.

Still, that's pretty normal. The headline "20000 children die in Africa" doesn't seem to have the same effect as "2 white middle class children die in (insert your home town)." I'm not saying this is right, just saying what is.

-it is interesting to me...the more we claim we are scientific as a society, the more society's action become nothing more than a cultural norm defined by an 'elite' as the correct. Eating dolphins is not a moral issue, but it is being considered as such. Now a Vegan who refused to eat dolphin is logical. A man who refuses to eat crate veal citing cruelty is logical. But arguing the dolphin's intelligence precludes it as food is illogical. Of course, amoral logic taken to the fullest extent does not forbid people as food. Which is why humans have ethics. But since some people deny ethics, like that nut case university professor, we end up going in circles.
