I just got this bill in the mail for 96000 won, and it doesnt look like my heating bill. The website is www.eapat.co.kr but I dont read korean. Does anyone know what this bill is for and what it entails?

Don't pay it, I got this as well. I also get them from newspapers. I think it is for charity.

I think it's your building fee (for extra services like the trash pick-up and the sleeping adjosshi in the lobby).

If it's not in your name, throw it away.

If it's in your name, ask someone exactly what it is.

I get these sometimes, often they are from charities or churches giving you official looking 'bills' that are donations. If so, into the rubbish bin they go.

My wife just helped me understand this website. It is an automated apartment fee paying website. If you type in the location of your apartment in the login area on the screen it will automatically take you to a channel to make your payments via bank transfer. If you don't pay your own fees, then give it to your co-teacher or hagwon handler for them to do what they want with it.

Same for us nomad-ish, my wife usually takes everything down, and I have on occasion gone into the bank and done it quite easily. You know how Korea wants to automate everything to "make it easier." I would think that Korea is the Internet shopping mecca of the entire world. They would rather shop online than go out and do it for real in the stores. Can't say that I blame them to an extent, since shopping online with the delivery services in this country are above par from what I have found in other parts of the world.

yeah, i've seen a lot of home shopping networks here. i paid for cable and it seems like i just got a few movie channels, bbc, and a ton more shopping channels. Shocked

i think those atm-like machines at the bank are a great idea!! i pay 3 bills at once in about 3 min. besides all the cr@p going on with transfers out of the country and no int'l atm cards, i find banking here quite easy.
