Hello everyone,
I finally applied to an English School in South Korea, and just heard back this morning that they want to set up an interview. (I had to go online to figure out whether the time they were suggesting was Seoul time, or New York Time . . . I live in the same timezone as New York).

I've emailed them to clarify the time/date issue, but I am just wondering:
What kinds of questions should I expect in my job interview?
Have any of you done job interviews by wencam, or just telephone?
Do you have any recommendations/suggestions about being interviewed?
I pretty much have only applied to this one place (which I have been investigating off-an-on for over 6 mos.), and have no clue what I'll do if I don't get hired there, so yeah, I'm pretty serious about this school. |

Korean interviews are a joke. Here's what I got asked.
"Why are you interested in Korea?"
"Do you have a girlfriend?"
"Tell me about your family."
That's it. Trust me, there are a shortage of English teachers in Korea. You're interviewing them; remember that. Good luck. |

Have they asked you for a stool sample? Apparently that is all the rage right now.
Just don't give them any DNA samples That is being used to clone you so that they can grow native speakers who don't get uppity.
Seriously, I don't understand why a newbie having to jump through these hoops would want to come here. Korea is okay, sort of at times, but it definitely ain't all that. |

It's all about the $$$, of course. I'd love to work in Thailand (But don't quote me; I haven't been to Chang Mai in the summer.), but I'd probably only make $800.00 U.S. a month as opposed to $2,200.00 U.S. a month in Korea. |
