The DNC offered to reschedule new primaries and even pay for them. Florida & Michigan wouldn't go for it -- after all, that would negate the whole foundation of their little power play.

Link?

I'm looking for the quote I found from a Michigan party official to the effect that do-overs only happen in third-world countries. I can't find it. Here is a Detroit Free Press article quoting Sen. Carl Levin to the effect that it ain't gonna happen. Best I can find right now.

I also thought it was pretty much a given that Hiliary is going to win this thing through the superdelegate system.

In order for this to happen, a whole lot of Hillary super delegates would have to vote against their constituencies. They're already restless; some, like John Lewis, are openly talking about switching. (He insists he hasn't made up his mind yet, but why even raise the subject if you're not gonna do it?)

There's very little chance that the super delegates will play spoiler. Some commentators are referencing Mondale's 1984 victory over insurgent Gary Hart, but Mondale actually had the pledged delegate lead going in to the convention. It looks very unlikely that Hillary will do the same thing.
