Guys, I leave in four months. My PC is not coming with me. So I need to find a sucker... er... buyer before then.
However, I'm not some rip-off artist, so it's been suggested that I post what is getting sold and see what opinions are on what I can get for it.
And if worse comes to worse, I can try and sucker my employer into buying it at an inflated cost before I go.
Computer itself: Core 2 Duo E6400. Mainboard is a Gigbyte 945P-S3, and the RAM is DDR2, two gigs. Geforce 7600 GS. I'm running the sound off of the motherboard. Hard drive is 200GB, CD-RW (No DVD sorry). And the case has a cool clock and a temperature gauge in the face. Six USB ports, but the two in the front got damaged when I tripped over the wires. But I figure putting them back into place should be no big deal.
Attached to it: LG synchmaster monitor. 1280 x 1024. Some pretty decent speakers of a brand I've never heard of: BonoBoss. Hp Scanjet 2400 scanner. A WACOM Intuous 3 tablet. And a cheap keyboard and mouse.
So, what are my best bets to aim for? I want to sell it as a unit instead of as bits and pieces... though I figure I could let the scanner and tablet go separately. |

Its often suggested that you find the prices if you would buy it new and divide by 2.
I could be wrong. |

That's a not bad computer........
......with monitor.....you don't say the screen size of the monitor......17''? 21''?.....LCD or CRT?..................anyway, I think you could ask 500,000-600,000 for the lot.
If I was a teacher living in Korea and wanted a pretty decent computer, I'd pay 500,000, no problem. |

I said 300 ~ 350,000 for the components, leaving out the monitor and peripherals. So yeah, 500,000 for the whole kit sounds cool. I wouldn't include the tablet in that price though.
For someone who doesn't know what they are or use that kind of peripheral, it may seem useless, therefore not necessary and thus, you may not get a good return on it.

Ah, right... 17inch LCD.
600,000 doesn't seem bad. But I think Demophobe may be right about my having trouble finding a buyer for the WACOM tablet. It's pretty much just a pricey artist's tool that's still going for 400,000 down at Yongsan.
Maybe I'll sell that to to the office. The kindy teachers can use it to put stuff together.
Or maybe I'll just take it home and give it to my nephew. |
