|
|
I looked through the stickies but I can't find a list of what exactly I need to bring to Japan for a Visa run.
I'm supposed to fly to Fukuoka tomorrow and my school has given me nothing but an e-ticket to print and a visa number. I'm pretty sure I need some kind of paperwork.
Tips and advice would be appreciated. |

IF you got a letter of release, bring a copy of it, along with your exit order from immigration showing you haven't overstayed your old visa. Take two passport sized photos as well. You can get them made at the consulate in Fukuoka, but some on this board have said the machine doesn't always work. Take money for shopping and food if your school isn't paying for meals. If you're staying in the Central Hotel, they have wonderful buffets, and your breakfast buffet will be free with your reservation through Kangsan Travel. The lunch and dinner buffets are also excellent - cost is between $10-$15 each, I believe. Can't quite remember. Find out what bus to take before you go so you can get to the consulate easily. You can buy a two day bus pass that will allow you to travel anywhere in the city. Well worth the cost, but duh, I can't remember exactly what that cost, either. Change your money from won to yen before you go. Good luck! |

In addition to your visa number, you'll fill out a visa application at the consulate. As elliemk stated, you'll need passport photos (one gets glued to the application form, and you may need one more). As she stated, it's also wise to bring your exit order or a copy of your immigration record (you can request this at the Incheon Airport immigration office while you wait for your flight), though they may not ask to see it. Finally, you'll need cash for the visa fee: 5600 yen, if I recall correctly. Korean consulate though they are, they won't accept won. |

Thanks for the help guys. So, It looks like the number is all I need after all and the other paperwork gets filled out there. I guess my school didn't drop the ball after all. |
