Random Ajosshi: "Excuse me. Can you tell me what the "dreaming eyesight formation" means here?" (pointing at headline of poorly written Korean/English newspaper)

Bailsibub: "I have no idea."

Random Ajosshi: But you are English Speaker and teacher.

Bailsibub: "Well, I do speak English, but I'm not a teacher. Now get!"

Random Ajosshi: (standing there in a stuper because he doesn't know what "get" or "dreaming eyesight formation" means...not to mention that not all white people here are English teachers).

So to all the Kwriters of the English papers here, stop making up your own English. It's lame and confusing to your own people.

And to the random ajosshi, thanks for the weird experience. Next time, mind your business.

Thanks for making the foreigner have a worse off image than we already have. The poor lady just wanted a moment of your boring life, not so much to ask. It's not like you were extremely busy on the subway. In about the same amount of time you told her off you could have said "it's bad english."

Common courtesy goes along way people. Give it a whirl sometime and push the troll of your shoulder.

Ajossi=man, not lady.

And yeah, OP, you were an ass. A simple, "I'm not sure, that's not correct English, sorry" would have taken as much energy and made you not look like a *beep*.

What do you think about Korean Jehovah's Witnesses? I am so sick of them coming up to me with their little frikin piece of "truth." I told a 80 year old guy off at Seoul Station cause he was the second Jehovah's Witnesses to come up and bother me in 10 minutes. I still feel bad, but I am sick of them. I end up losing it on them about half the time now and then feel guilty for being so rude later...can't help it though. That little pamphlet they carry just seems to set me off.

don't feel guilty. those people have it coming. i've had them follow me, come to my apt, bug me constantly with those annoying English religious magazines. when they see me coming they stop and make sure to block my path, but if they're not fast enough for some reason they do a complete 180 and speed walk after me trying to talk to me. you shouldn't feel bad going off on these people: they want others to respect their religion, yet they show nothing but disrespect for the beliefs of others.

to the OP, that was just mean.

Your guess seemed logical but still... Naver alone is always a bad idea...

If some guy asked me a legitimate question I would spend the time to try to answer it. Maybe there were other clues in the article and to point to the real meaning and like another stated, I probably wouldn't be doing anything better on the subway.
If I was in the middle of something and was bothered I might be a bit rude as I was busy. I guess I would stay composed unless pestered about it.

Ha ha, so a guy can come up to you, ask you a question, talk down to you and get p1ssed when you don't know the answer? Was I supposed to just take it?

FYI, after it happened, my Korean wife asked me why the guy had to be so rude and bother us.

Anyway, he clearly didn't understand me. Sad, since next week he will probably be having his little hissy fit over why you don't know what "bean empathy chase (rain)" means.

My bad....

I didn't add that he delivered the "but you are an English teacher" line with way too much 'tude. It was like he was a disgruntled student.

I'm not even a teacher!!!

I would have done the same. What do you think, we are walking good will ambassadors. teachers should make cards and write them in korean:

ENGLISH LESSONS

1 second - 10 seconds 10,000 won

11 seconds - 30 15,000 won

31 seconds - 1 minute 20,000 won

have a nice day.

The night time contact lens that corects your vision while you sleep. They sell them for a specific type of eye muscle problem.
