Does anyone know if the morning after pill is available in Korea? If so, what is the name for it here?

I am certain that it is available, but I don't know the Korean word for it, or if it is a prescription drug. If you need it today, you may be SOL as most doctors' offices are closed today, and there are only a few of the larger pharmacies open. The small mom & pop pharmacies are closed.

i did a quick search and apparently the pill available in korea is called norlevo. i've heard that most pharmacies here will require a prescription, but some of the ones in itaewon might be less strict about this.

If you are lucky, you can try and convince a pharmacist(most likely in Itaewon!) for the pill. However, most other places cannot/will not give it to you unless you have a prescription from a doctor. While you can get the normal Birth control pills from a pharmacy without a prescription, this one you need a prescription for! Good luck!

You need a prescription for it.

Just go into your local OBGYN, (there seem to be a ton of these clinics around my area), and get an appointment (doc should be able to see you within the hour). Doc will give you the prescription coupled with a few stern looks and you can go to the pharmacy located next door/downstairs.

The "window of opportunity" is up to 72 hours, though the effectiveness is diminished as time passes. I'd get cracking asap.

This website is useful http://ec.princeton.edu/countryquery.asp. You can buy oral contraceptives over the counter and use them as emergency contraceptive if you can't make it to a doctor or Itaewon in soon enough. Good luck.

Chris Kwon- classy. It wasn't the fact that I wasn't using protection. Thanks though.

And I ended up finding it. I needed to get a prescription but it was easy to get.
Thanks for the help to those who offered it...

I'm surprised this thread only appears about once a month with all the loose college graduates out there.

It was good advice! I never said you weren't wearing protection. Mouth, stomach, face, choose a target on her and threads like this won't have to be made so often.

That doesn't stop the "pre" event boys from doing their thing, and they can.

The stupid comments on subjects like these are unnecessary. This is important information to have if you are in a bad situation.

Is this information in a sticky? If not, it should be.

In a real pinch, emergency rooms will administer it too... (like, say, in a small country town during a long holiday... )
