|
|
Hey all,
just wondering if anyone has a number for the International Clinic in Itaewon. Seems I'm going to have to pay it a visit tomorrow.
Is it necessary to book an appointment? Does anyone know the opening hours?
I was planning on heading down during my break between 11.30 and 2pm.
Thank you in advance.

THANK GOODNESS for that - most Korean doctors I go to - refuse to prescribe anti-biotics... with the usual - Oh just wait one week - you'll get over it...
meanwhile - 2 weeks later - still suffering...
geez - if he STILL prescribes anitbiotics - good on him.... |

I also really like the doctor at Seoul Foreign Clinic in Hannam-dong. Near Itaewon and Hannam subway stations, bus 110 stops almost right in front.

Yes you do usually need to make an appointment ... especially if you only have a small amount of time as you do ... I would recommend that ... Just call them ...

Additional benefits to the International Clinic in Itaewon: He has an X-ray machine and development tools onsite, so don't worry about whether-you-need-an-X-ray-or not... You'll be getting one. Better safe than sorry!
He's also trained in biofeedback and recently gotten into detox programs, so you're guaranteed to have access to rare and (often expensive) treatments, but this time under a doctor's trusted recommendations, so you know you're dealing with well-established scientific truth.
Another thing that's special about the doc there is that he's not one to dither about what something might be or not - and other than the X-raying of course - tests, schmests! This doc goes with his gut! Something wrong with your cervix! Probably an STD! Hubby vomits blood one time? Probably stomach cancer! Why *beep* foot and pull punches, eh? Give it to me straight, doctor, I can take it.
So many people go through life not really appreciating everything little thing - but bringing up the possibility of cancer or VD quickly helps put everything into perspective - and makes you truly appreciate what you have. In fact, even though both diagnoses weren't borne out by later blood tests (which were done at other clinics), we had the benefit of really seeing life with a new, fresh perspective. It's like a breath of fresh air, really, a new lease on life.
Such an emotional awakening, is something you can't really pay for. Oh, wait, actually fewer of the International Clinic's services are covered by Korean health care than at your standard clinic or hospital - so in a sense, you CAN pay for it. |

HA! That was exactly my experience there, with the Good Doctor himself. He emailed me with my STD test results, and he claimed I had gardnerella vaginalis. I thought that was kind of an interesting diagnosis, because I am, you know, a male, and we males don't often get infections of the female genital tract.
And I only went there because I had a sore throat and itchy tongue. |
