Hi everybody.

For those of you teaching at universities... What is the dress code like? Do you have to wear a tie? Is it enough with dockers, shirt and jumper?

And, any chance of getting a tenure-track post in Korea providing you have a PhD in the field?

Thanks a lot.

Anything nice is Ok. Some people at wear the same clothes they would teaching kids.
I usually wear a suit, but I sometimes wear dress pants and a nice shirt.
Just dress up a bit and the kids will respect you more.

Tenure track position... Is that even possible? I didn't think so, and the chances are slim that that would ever happen. My university has no dress code at all though.

Hi.

I will be teaching for university students so I am not that much concern about the respect... I just dont want to go there and see everybody with a tie but me... Also, since I am a bit tall and big shoes, I thought to bring some clothes with me...

Any help...

There are not many teachers at my university that wear a suit and tie. Most wear slacks of some sort and a button down shirt, so anything along those lines is usually fine. Tenure track positions are highly unlikely although I would guess that some would come open.
