Hey guys,

It's been rumoured that the Zara clothing chain is due to open a store sometime in early 2008. I've googled it and come up empty handed. Does anyone out there have any info on the date of the grand opening, or location? Muchas gracias!

There's a Zara in the Yongsan shopping center. It's in the IPark. It's right by Mango.

really? do you happen to know if it's a full-sized zara as they have in most other countries, or simply an outlet/open-air section of a department store? also, can anyone confirm this location? many thanks!

Do they stock Western sizes or Korean sizes? I was in a Zara in Tokyo last week and really liked the clothes but didn't feel like trying anything on, but they looked like "normal" sizes.

The one in Yongsan, if you look closely at the sign, has 'Parallel Import Store' or something similar under the name. In other words, the clothes are privately imported and unlikely to be the current season's collection. One of my Korean friends told me the store would be opening in Myeongdong early this year but that's as much as I know.

hmm, yeah looking for the current season's collection for sure. thanks for the info.

flash - in every other asian country, the zaras i have visited have stocked western sizes (XS-XL). let's hope they do the same here.

i'm sure they do.... i havent been to zara in asia yet, but most stores carried "normal" sizes....

i think the conception that clothes in asia are tiny is not that true-- the sizes are a bit smaller in general, but i was expecting not to fit in anything even though im a size 4. i saw many, many korean girls bigger than i am. i dont know what i was expecting-- i guess i thought all the korean girls were size 0!!

Yesterday I was walking through the new outdoor area of COEX and I saw that Zara is opening at the beginning of May. It looks like a "real" store as opposed to the parallel import store in Yongsan which carries out of date styles - I'm talking 5years out of date here - don't go there. The new Zara store will be great and there's also another Coldstone ice cream store opening at COEX opposite Zara.

i love zara-- cute trendy clothes, affordable prices... that is, in canada.

i imagine the prices will be ridiculous in korea, just like anything else western.

There's a huge one opening at COEX soon.

If you come out the subway exit, you can't miss it.

Yay.

I thought there's one in Apgujeong already? I'm pretty sure I walked past it about a year ago. In / near Rodeo Drive?
