Nope, my bud's brother in-law just got "called to service" and the pay is under 100,000. |

| The OP mentioned the rank for Sergeant. |
Having been informed above that I was thinking of the wrong rank, I looked back, and sure enough the OP says sergeant.
The amount of money mentioned for sergeants is grievously wrong. Last term I taught about 15 sergeants. I know for a fact that W100,000 is what a fair number of them are willing to spend in an evening out. |

| These guys shouldn't just be expected to subsist. They should be able to go out and earn whatever they can or be paid a competitive wage, or the gov't will eventually face serious electoral repercussions. If Korea thinks it needs a nation-wide militia against Yamamoto and Kublai Khan, that's fine. But the gov't should be willing to pay for it. 2.4 mil for two years? That's unbelievable. |
