Can it be at all possible for SMOE to have filled up all their positions? Or did my last school f me over on my reference?

It is highly doubtful that SMOE or any of the other educational groups filled all their positions.

More positions will open up for August. It doesn't surprise me that SMOE is full. It seems SMOE is a very good system compared to that of GEPIK/EPIK.

What a crock of ... well, it's really cliche'd and wishy washy. Is this how they really judge?
Then is Korea going to be so good on your resume?

What is the correct Romanization for her name? Yi or Lee? I know that in Korean you just say the vowel sound. It gets confusing to me to see Lee Myungbak spelling with a L and Ye Kelly's spelling with a Y.

Don't they have the same family name when spelling in Korean?

if they have filled all their positions in SMOE, i wouldn't worry. some new places will open up in aug/sept, and in a few months from now i'm sure some people will have decided it isn't for them and left

Some private schools make teachers pay 30 million won to obtain a position. They do this because private school salaries are much higher and very lucrative.

Depends on age of students, the school's location, and the experience of the teacher.

Generally, everyone wants to work for public schools first, private second (because they couldn't get in the public school).

That is the way it works.

I've worked for both, and have many friends from both. Every one of my private school friends is trying to pass the test for a public job. Every single one. One woman took over 12 years to finally pass and get accepted.

They're also treated like slaves/property at private schools. Did you know they even have to get approval from their boss to leave and take a higher-paying position somewhere else?

The boss can say no.

That woman who finally passed the test after 12 years was my boss. She was very afraid that the principal would deny her request to transfer to the public school.

Slaves who had to pay to be slaves.

Still sound like such a great position to be in?

As far as we know, the S.M.O.E. has currently filled all of their positions for March from all sources. Some candidates have been wait listed in case candidates that have currently accepted positions drop out. However they are set to hire significantly more teachers this August than they did in August of 2007.
