You really won't be happy with the IXUS 70.
Yes it is the most basic point and shoot and takes pictures ok.
Beyond that it is the cheap way out while still owning a Canon.
Good luck. |

I agree in part with some of the Yongsan comments but I went round and asked prices on a Panasonic Lumix FX30. I went to about 20 stalls in the one directly opposite the train station.
*The most expensive was 230 000 won for the camera and 50 000 won for a 1gb memory card.
*The one I bought, the guy quoted 150 000 won for the camera and 20 000 won for a 1gb memory card. Sold! Receipt the lot.
Looking at the Danawa website the FX30 goes for 237 000 won.
If you have time go round the markets, be polite, and ask about. You'll be able to beat the internet prices.
I love my FX30, image quality is good and occasionally you'll get some absolute treasures. |

Well, I bought my digital camera about 5 years ago. An Olympus Stylus 300, 3.2 megapixel. I would have kept using it but it just died. So I imagine the Ixus or any other simple point and shoot would do me just fine. I don't really want a big DSLR, and I don't want to spend more than 300$. I just want a regular do it all point and shoot that is fast and can record video and sound. I know you guys are all fans of these big fancy super high quality cameras, but A: I don't have the money to buy one; B: If it's too big I won't bother taking it with me anywhere.
BTW: I found ithe Ixus 70 on G Market for 175$. But I'm not sure what that included. So, thanks for that tip guys. |

The guy who does the photography column in the KH noted don't get romanced by megapixels for point and shoots. It's not the end all be all of picture quality. And I have to agree. My 6 mp fuji broke and I bought a 7 mp Nikon. The Nikon takes crappier pictures.
So find a camera you want and then do a lot of research on reviews for photo quality. |
