If you are studying in either a college or a University, you can teach, tax free, it seems. |

If I were you I'd phone immigration and ask a hyperthetical question.
I'm on an E2 and was under the impression that I could teach until I phoned immigration and asked. I was told that teaching privates is illegal...period. |

That's because you have an E2. Immigration trump all other agencies as far as you are concerned. The law is for other visa holders and Koreans.
I"m registered as a student in Massey university in NZ. Studying a paper a half. Wonder what that makes me? |

Since immigration is the group that deports you for illegal work, yes, they trump all agencies.
I am an F3 holder, also a registered student to further previous education, have a TEFL and 7 years international teaching experience. That still doesn't allow me to legally teach privates here.
If you want the right info for your situation, phone the people who issues the visas and make the law. Immigration. you don't have to give your details to get the information.
Lets keep the snide remarks under control.

No idea. But like I said...when I phoned to confirm my situation I was told by Seoul immigration that teaching privates/tutoring for all visa holders is illegal.
You hear different things from different people. My take is...teach if you want but don't talk openly about it. You always stand the chance of deportation or some serious inconvenience and embarassment if they come knocking. And they do. Things here with visas, foreigners and immigration is iffy.
D, E, F whatever...if you want confirmation pick up the phone, and ask, or...presume you're breaking the law and deal with it that way.ie quietly. |
