Then, do give your one or two. I'd like to read them. There is no obligation to meet 20.

I did find it interesting to sustain filling in 20, though. Had I more time, it would be quite fun to really polish a 20 list.

10 Things VanIslander Wishes He'd Known:

1. Don't neglect your best friend when you start dating. A good friend can last or be lost for a lifetime.

2. Don't sweat grades. The difference between an A-minus and an A isn't such a big deal.

3. Say you are sorry when you are.

4. Travel overseas as an early adult if you really want to. Waiting until your thirties could upset your settling down and childrearing plans.

5. Some things you will never do if you don't do them when you're young.

6. Accept people for how they are. No use getting upset at someone doing what they always do. Ditch the moral tone. People don't change that much and when they do it's often unexpected.

7. Indulging in what you most like has to have limits or else you could end up hating it.

8. Take less pictures but do so more often, and store them (or copies) somewhere safe.

9. Rejection doesn't hurt years later, quite the opposite, while not having asked on a date that one you had feelings for will be felt as a loss.

10. If you don't spend time with older relatives now, chances are you never will.

Totally agreed with all the one's above and previous page. It's quite cool to read them (when I have time,) especially the Op's as they tend to have stories with each of them.

That's a good list.

1. You are what you are, but you don't have to be.

2. Take a walk every now and then.

3. Write out and draw a plan for your goals and each goal's necessary points of progress/action.

4. Don't get caught up in the narrow politics of the day. (On a first date at a pizzeria, I once got into an argument on abortion)

5. Never discount yourself in your thoughts. It's bad enough when other people try to put you down.

6. Things only get done if you do them yourself. Asking for help is okay, too; after help is promised, make sure you verify it got done. Don't assume it did.

7. Spend more time with your pet.

8. Buy a motorcycle. It doesn't need to be a new one.

9. If someone hits you, hit them back. (One of the first things my father told me.)

10. Check the expiration date.

11. Some of your dogmatisms probably won't last forever.
