Many leftist historians voice this criticism. It places the duty to act on the American govt; it further presupposes that the American govt could and should have stopped or at least mitigated the Holocaust. Classic U.S.-centrism.
Anyone ever hear of the Nazis? |

Right. And the court isn't likely to buy that part of the analysis. |

So, the Nazis bear more responsibility for the Holocaust than the Americans? You sir a brave, sane voice in this crazy wilderness. Kudos for pronouncing such an obvious fact with all of your signature bombast. |

I've been thinking about this and I think it's a good idea now. It sets a precedent I hope to exploit.
I can sue the University of Iowa for letting me take a pointless degree in English. I can sue my Junior High for the times I was bullied. Hell, I'm a bit of a nihilist, maybe I can sue my Mom for giving birth to me. |

Privity of Contract. I doubt you could get unconscionability in there, much less duress or undue influence. Point is, you agreed, you're stuck with it.

Yeah, you might have been able to swing that one, except that the Statute of Limitations has run.

The judge would abort that charge for failing to state a claim for relief. |

The following, because of the posts immediately above:
Early one June morning in 1872 I murdered my father--an act which made a deep impression on me at the time. This was before my marriage, while I was living with my parents in Wisconsin. My father and I were in the library of our home, dividing the proceeds of a burglary which we had committed that night. These consisted of household goods mostly, and the task of equitable division was difficult...[Y]ou can see for yourself that when you try to divide a single music-box by two without a remainder you will have trouble. It was that music-box which brought disaster and disgrace upon our family. If we had left it my poor father might now be alive...
I could not help admiring his spirit and sensitiveness; for a moment I was proud of him and disposed to overlook his fault, but a glance at the richly jeweled music-box decided me, and, as I said, I removed the old man from this vale of tears. Having done so, I was a trifle uneasy. Not only was he my father--the author of my being--but the body would be certainly discovered. It was now broad daylight and my mother was likely to enter the library at any moment. Under the circumstances, I thought it expedient to remove her also, which I did. Then I paid off all the servants and discharged them.
That afternoon I went to the chief of police, told him what I had done and asked his advice. It would be very painful to me if the facts became publicly known. My conduct would be generally condemned; the newspapers would bring it up against me if ever I should run for office. The chief saw the force of these considerations; he was himself an assassin of wide experience. After consulting with the presiding judge of the Court of Variable Jurisdiction he advised me to conceal the bodies in one of the bookcases, get a heavy insurance on the house and burn it down. This I proceeded to do.

I love Ambrose Bierce.
"Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge" is genius, and on Vonnegut's reading list. |

| Hi - Thanks for your replies. I remembered today that the grandest of all communists is Karl Marx, a Jew. Thats likely another reason Jews felt at home in the Soviet Union. |

I do too. 'Owl Creek' is his masterpiece. Another really good war story of his is 'Chickamaugua'. Most of his other things are horror and satire. Quite a few of them are lots of fun. |

I third that. Anytime I describe that story to people they get freaked out. I think they made a movie about it during 60s in France. |

| 'ethnic christian"? no such thing. christianity is a belief system. ethnicity has nothing to do with it. ditto "ethnic muslim" or "ethnic jew". |
