An electrical transfromer outside a GS store exploded about 100 meters from where I was sitting. Minding my own business after working out, with a nice 4000 won fresh squeezed orange juice, a piece of jagged shrapnel bounced off the wall of the pleasant cafe wall beside me. I saw it out of the corner of my eye spirralling through the air a second after the explosion shook the street. People from around the block came out to see what happened. Apparently I was the only one in the line of fire. I just about cracked the bottle of gin in my bag that I was saving for tonight. This was about fifteen minutes ago...still shaking as I type this.

In other news, it is starting to feel like spring is coming.

That's Heavy. It's such a weird feeling when something like that happens, your body has so much adrenaline running through it and it is hard to calm down.

You might have to neck some of that Gin to chill out Very Happy

Big Deal!!Everyone one of us risks life and limb everyday just by living here. Life threatening situations include:

* Eating at the local kimbap restaurant (Bochalism to go)
* Having a Korean girlfriend (Dump me, me tell you takee drugs)
* Living in/working in unsafe buildings (Who locked the fire escape!)
* Crossing one way streets (Cars coming from the opposite direction)
* Walking near high rise buildings (Nearly had a jumper land on me!)
* Dodgy wiring (The High Voltage cables help hold up the tree branches)

I'm sure others can add to the list...........................

...getting hit by cars, scooters and so on
Food poisoning
Hepatitis
Getting Aids from prostitutes

I get it.

You obviously haven't heard the sound of shrapnel whizzing past your face though.

Me, too.

I was at Guinsa temple, which has lots of lecture halls between 3 and 5 stories, and the ice on the roof was melting and crashing onto the ground. One fell about 3 yards from me, and I almost got jacked up by it at the bus terminal.

Almost dying sucks. But it could be worse! Very Happy

I have almost died a few times... none of them very pleasant. Needing a new pair of pants is nothing in comparison to getting hit on your driver's side by a full size truck when driving a small car... I would have been scared shitless had I known it was coming I suppose...

Glad you're OK. Depending on your body, don't be surprised if you have a long tired session once you've calmed down. After my accident and my adrenaline wore down a day later, I felt sooooooo tired that I could barely move for a day.

Some people on this board would blame the explosion on racism. A failed assassination on a waegook!
