I work at an elementary school in Ulsan for two hours a day, 5 days a week. Yesterday, I was informed by the principal that I would not be paid for any national hoildays or classes the school cancels as it contravines district policy. I was given the option of making up the classes if I wanted my full salary. However, as I have a very busy schedule, I am totally unable to make room for them, not that I feel I should.
Have any of you had a simialr problem? |

It's not your fault that you only teach 10 hours a week. Your contract should say maximum of 22 hours per week so they must pay your full salary even if you only teach 1 hour a week. Don't teach more than 22 hours per week though. If you do, they'll have to pay overtime.
As for not paying national holidays, just show them your contract. |
