I am looking at buying a couple of computers (3 - 4), but their functions are non game related.
What they do have to do is run programs without hiccuping, so i guess a lot of RAM is in place, whether it is possible to connect via Wifi instead of cable to the router, and be easily upgradeable still.
No need for writers, DVD reader is enough (unless the difference is negligible)
Include DECENT work screen
No other peripherals just yet, but keep options open.
The reason I want to buy the same ones is to keep maintenance and upgrading easy.
What would you put together?

| Well if you want stability avoid wireless. It can be a little shaky, especially if you're putting large amounts of traffic through a cheap router. |

I think you need to give a few more details. What exactly are you going to be doing on the computers: surfing and word? Video editing? 3d rendering? audio editing? number crunching stats?
What is your typical workflow, which programs do you typically use and how many of them do your run simultaneously?
What do you consider a decent workscreen? 19" lcd can be had for 150,000 22" for 300-350 and 24"+ a lot more
What exactly is your budget per computer?
A dvd writer is not expensive. Also I would recommend keeping your computers connected to your router via lan cable if it is possible. If necessary buy a long cable and just snake it along walls and under the floor. If you have to go wireless but your internet will be slower as will transferring files from one computer to another. I know as I have two desktops connected by lan cable to my router and 1 laptop wirelessly plus an occasional second laptop when the wife brings her office computer home. surfing wirelessly isn't a problem but file transfers take longer. |

The router ain't cheap  It's pretty good one, first class. |

well wordproccesing is a must ofcourse, no video editing or rendering.
Just something to run a DB on, open the wordprocessor, run a powerpoint presentation, and all that without "hesitation", you know, waiting for the program to actually work

Let do it likes this
1.mail program
2.Browser
3. Word processor
4. Powerpoint
5. and all the usual rabble (anti-vir, AIM's, ...)

I would love to see something under 400k, but i am willing to go up to 600k, including screen.

There will be one Main computer and printer connected to the router via LAN, and the other computers connected via Wifi. They will never have a big use of the connection apart from browsing and mail.
I might consider using internet meetings, i know for sure that my wifi router can go up to 560kb per second, and over LAN its 1Mb.
The Main computer will also serve as a file server aka shared harddisk over the network.
I have 5 rooms, and each room will get a computer, i don't feel like pulling 5 cables all over the place, its ugly and doesn't look clean, plus the chances for accidents ....
therefore 1 computer will be LANed, the one close to the router, and the other will be using wifi, since the i-net connection is not the most important function of those computers. |

I think you have really nailed an affordable decent computer there
Now to contact Danawa, and see what i can bargain for if i buy a couple of PC's, a projector, a decent printer and such
I was thinking of doing this at Yonsan, but i guess Danawa can provide a slightly better service (eg transport)
