| Its too bad. This is the last thing the region needed. On a pragmatic level what do Albanians in Kosovo truly gain by delcaring independence? Will the 50% unemployment rate drop? |

Actually, no. In fact. I can see the unemployment rate increasing astronomically since many of them were employed in Serbia. I can see Serbia actually choking Kosovo economically....
Sometimes, the dollar (or Euro in this case) could be mightier than the bullet......
Unless, the US is willing to heavily subsidize their economy......
Which is similar to what the US for Korea right after the Korean war......and if Kosovo can create an export economy and have access to the sea (via Albania), they might be able to do very well.
But this is Europe we are talking about, a place where economic growth is slow at best.............. |
