was the answer to the first one? That's the only theory I saw, except for the dicussion about Chicago being windy.
If we have to have a theory, then I see 2:
a) Truman wanted Doris Day to be the star of South Pacific, but the Commies were making so much noise that she couldn't hear the phone when he called, so Mitzi wound up with the lead.
b) Joe D. had been batting for the other team with McCarthy and Nixon but became a switch hitter to marry Marilyn, but she pissed him off when she went to Korea. |
